Board Member(s) Association of Fundraising Professionals – Greater Toronto Chapter

The Association of Fundraising Professionals Greater Toronto Chapter (AFP-GTA) is a recognized leader in promoting philanthropy and providing education, training and best practices for those in the fundraising profession. With more than 1,200 members, AFP-GTA is the largest of the 240 global chapters of AFP.
The Chapter's Committee on Directorship is issuing an open call for nominations and applications to join its Board of Directors. The Board of Directors oversees the strategy, business, and brand of the AFP Greater Toronto Chapter as it relates to its Strategic Plan, policies and membership needs. AFP-GTA is the largest AFP Chapter in the world and its Board currently has twenty-two members.
AFP-GTA is seeking Board Member(s) with a passion and dedication to the principles of inclusion, diversity, equity and access (IDEA). The Committee on Directorship encourages applicants from individuals with diverse backgrounds, including people of colour and those from other equity seeking groups. The ideal candidate(s) has a strong commitment to the fundraising profession through service to AFP, other professional associations, and the community. Strong communication skills, and the ability to build strong partnerships with both internal and external stakeholders are also required.
All applications will be reviewed by the Chapter's Committee on Directorship and scored based on a combination of quantitative and qualitative key indicators developed as part of a Board skills matrix. Candidates selected for an interview should be prepared to discuss their interests in, and potential contributions to, the AFP Greater Toronto Chapter and the broader sector community.
