Founded in 2013, Capitalize for Kids’ vision is for Canada to have the most efficient mental health care system in the world. To accomplish this goal, C4K partners with Canadian children’s mental health organizations to co-create capacity building solutions. Working collaboratively with client organizations, C4K engages in a consultative approach, including discovery and strategy sessions, to understand and present capacity building solutions. C4K then co-develops, implements and financially supports the solution for three years, providing a real time, living lab opportunity for the client to see the efficiencies in action. C4K’s work is supported through a diversified revenue stream, including from its events and conferences, philanthropic donations, and from support from its pro-bono strategic partners (Bain and Company, McKinsey & Co., MNP, Pemeco Consulting, RBC Strategy & Operations, Sia Partners, and The Boston Consulting Group).

To accomplish this next phase of its development, C4K welcomes applications and nominations for the role of Chief Executive Officer.

Reporting to a highly regarded Board of Directors, the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) is responsible for all aspects of C4K. Working with a dedicated and experienced team, the CEO will drive C4K’s continued growth, business development and revenue generation activities, manage its financial and human resources, and lead the development of its strategic plan. The CEO is also the lead spokesperson for the organization and will be asked to engage with the children’s mental health sector and its leaders, with potential supporters and donors, and to guide C4K’s annual “Investors Conference” and “The Bay Street Games” to drive revenue growth, impact and future initiatives for the organization.

As the ideal candidate, you are a senior executive who has successfully scaled and grown an organization(s) in a sustainable and holistic manner. As a strategic thinker and leader, you are adept at analysing and synthesizing large amounts of information in a short amount of time. You articulate your vision to your team in a way that empowers them to develop practical solutions to support your clients’ needs. Colleagues and partners describe you as an experienced people leader who develops, enthuses, and motivates a team to deliver upon its audacious goals. You are at ease with public speaking and have strong communication and interpersonal skills which will enable you to promote C4K’s mission. Your past experience in senior management roles has provided you with strong budgetary and financial, revenue generation, fundraising and sponsorship skills which you will apply to lead and grow the organization. As a business leader, you are an exceptional relationship builder and networker who is comfortable building partnerships with Bay Street executives, government officials, and donors. As the majority of C4K’s pro bono partners, funders and donors are connected to the capital markets industry, an understanding of, or familiarity with, the financial sector is an advantage. Candidates must hold a degree from a recognized university, be located within a reasonable distance to work from the C4K’s Toronto head office and have a desire to bring about positive change in the delivery of children’s mental health services across Canada.
