The Executive Director is the Chief Executive Officer and is responsible for providing strategic leadership, operational excellence, financial stewardship, and organizational sustainability to advance the organization's mission and long-term success.

Reporting to the Board of Directors, the Executive Director is accountable for the development and implementation of the strategic plan, overseeing day-to-day operations, ensuring financial sustainability, fostering a high-performing organizational culture, and expanding the organization's impact across Canada.

As the organization's leader, the Executive Director serves as the primary ambassador, cultivating relationships with governments, industry, employers, educational institutions, community organizations, donors, sponsors, and the public.

The Executive Director will provide visionary leadership as the organization enters its next stage of evolution, positioning it for continued growth, innovation, and long-term sustainability.

Compensation Package: The targeted salary range for this position $150,000 - $175,000, commensurate with experience and qualifications, and includes a comprehensive benefits package.

Location: Based in the Greater Toronto Area/401 Corridor, this is a remote first opportunity with regular travel throughout Canada.

While the Search Committee recognizes that it is unlikely that any one individual will possess all the desired qualifications in equal measure, the ideal candidate should have the following:

Qualifications

  • Degree in Business Administration, Public Administration, Nonprofit Management, Education, or a related field (Master's degree considered an asset).
  • Progressive leadership experience at the executive level
  • Demonstrated experience leading organizations through significant growth, change, or transformation.
  • Experience building and retaining a high-performing, engaged leadership team and organizational culture.
  • Experience managing multi-million-dollar budgets and ensuring long-term financial sustainability.
  • Proven success securing funding through government, corporate, foundation, philanthropic, and earned revenue streams.
  • Demonstrated experience leading organizational strategy, operations, and performance.
  • Experience working effectively with Boards of Directors and governance structures.
  • Strong understanding of financial management, risk management, organizational development, and change leadership.
  • Exceptional communication, relationship-building, negotiation, and public speaking skills.
  • Experience representing organizations publicly at provincial or national levels is considered a strong asset.
  • Experience within the nonprofit, charitable, education or social impact sectors is preferred.
