The Elementary Teachers of Toronto (ETT) is the Toronto local of the Elementary Teachers’ Federation of Ontario (ETFO), representing over 10,000 elementary teachers employed by the Toronto District School Board.

Position Overview
ETT is seeking a Member Health Support Manager—Absence & Accommodations to support members navigating sick leave, workplace accommodation, WSIB, and long-term disability processes.
This role will work closely with Executive Officers, the employer, and insurers to ensure members receive effective advocacy and support when facing health-related workplace challenges.
Reporting Structure
Reports to: President
Works closely with: Executive Officers and Staff
Key Responsibilities
Member Support & Advocacy
- Support members navigating sick leave, accommodation, WSIB, ESA Leaves, Attendance Support Program, and return-to-work processes
- Attend and support WSIB, return-to-work and accommodation meetings
- Provide guidance to members experiencing complex health workplace issues
Case Management & Coordination
- Liaise with employer on Attendance Support Program, WSIB, sick leave, and accommodation cases
- Maintain confidential case records
- Track trends and report to the ETT Executive
Advisory & Education
- Provide guidance to Executive Officers
- Support workshops related to:
- Sick leave
- Accommodation
- Employment Standards Act (ESA) Leaves
Legislative Knowledge
Apply working knowledge of:
- Employment Standards Act
- Human Rights Code
- Occupational Health and Safety Act
- Collective agreement provisions
- WSIB, and all other relevant statutes, policies and regulations.
Organizational Support
- Maintain confidential member files utilizing CRM
- Support internal coordination of casework
- Strengthen internal systems and processes
- Use data to track trends and projections
Qualifications
- Experience in labour relations, advocacy, or case management
- Strong understanding of accommodation and return-to-work processes
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Ability to working independently in a fast paced, deadline-oriented environment, ability to multitask, and manage sensitive and complex situations
Preferred
- Union or public sector experience
- Familiarity with WSIB and ESA processes
- Commitment to equity and social justice

- ETT is located at North York, ON M2P 2A9. Candidates must be able to reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)
