Rebound Child & Youth Services Inc. (Rebound) is a not-for-profit, incorporated, charitable organization, providing high-quality, community-based programs and services to children, youth, and families in Northumberland County since 1997. Children and youth are Rebound’s priority. Rebound works with community partners and over 70 dedicated volunteers to ensure the ongoing provision of supportive and proactive programming to empower children, youth, and their families to work towards positive change.  Services include: private and confidential mental health services, youth justice diversion, family wellness, literacy and learning help, and youth programming, which can assist children, youth, and their families, with options and resources to address challenges they may be facing. Rebound believes that the most effective services are those that are provided in a responsive and respectful manner and in a partnership with families. Services are free to residents of Northumberland County.

It is within this context that Rebound welcomes applications and nominations for the appointment of its Executive Director.

Reporting to the Board of Directors, the Executive Director is the key management leader of Rebound and provides leadership in overseeing and operationalizing the strategic plan. The Executive Director assumes responsibility for the development and implementation of the overall strategic direction of the organization in accordance with the vision, mission, values and the strategy as approved by the Board of Directors. The Executive Director identifies priorities and objectives, oversees the administration of the organization including human resources, operations and finance, and ensures programs and services align with Rebound’s mandate and strategic objectives. The Executive Director maintains and develops strong community connections and partnerships; pursues continued innovation and communication with internal and external stakeholders; and ensures Rebound is represented at key community planning and advocacy tables. The Executive Director also elevates Rebound’s brand profile through effective promotion with funders and key community stakeholders as well as the general public. The Executive Director assumes the role of spokesperson for the organization with stakeholder and media engagement, and oversees the creation of communications, marketing, and outreach plans.

As the ideal candidate, you are an experienced leader in the not-for-profit sector who is known for your high level of integrity, and having a transparent, and supportive leadership style. You have experience and skill in working with a Board of Directors, coupled with high-level strategic thinking and planning skills. You have a demonstrated ability to oversee and collaborate with staff, and a commitment to equity, diversity, inclusion and accessibility. You have a history of generating new revenue streams and improving financial results, as well as fundraising and donor relations skills. You have strong communication skills reflected in effectively communicating an organization’s mission to internal and external stakeholders, with strong public speaking ability. You have financial acumen, including budget preparation, analysis, decision making and reporting. You also have proven success in establishing relationships. Knowledge of the Northumberland County’s social and health service ecology is considered an asset, as is a Master’s and/or Bachelor’s degree.
